Cynthia is the newest volunteer at our London office and is originally from Rwanda, where she gained remarkable experience working with Human Rights groups and providing counselling for women affected by genocide and HIV & AIDS. She has a Masters degree in the Theory and Practice of Human Rights and has studied in the US and the UK for the past 5 years. Cynthia will be assisting with Southern African research and fundraising for the African Pulse. We're really excited and fortunate to have Cynthia on board and hope that we will also be able to contribute to her future role in Rwanda and perhaps join her one day.
Katherine lives locally in Cape Town and has joined the South African team, supporting in the office 1-2 days per week. Katherine contributes enormous value to daily operations as well as helping to better connect The African Pulse within South Africa, to ensure greater and broader impact. She is also keen to boost fundraising efforts and school-based activities within the charity.
Emma has volunteered her time over the months of July and August to assist The African Pulse in conducting a feasibility study of southern Africa. Emma will be paving the way for the charity to begin working in other southern African countries such as Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland and Mozambique. Thank you Emma for this committment!
Kate assisted The African Pulse team in Cape Town over 4 months this year. She supported efforts to increase the charity's local profile, fundraising and with the strategic development of the product for schools. Kate has returned to the UK to begin a degree in Drama and hopes to return to Africa some day. Thank you Kate for your valuable contribution!
"We're studying Television Production at Bournemouth University, which is helping us build a strong foundation for a career in this industry. As creative individuals, both Tessa and I want to be able to contribute our talent and skills that we have learnt on this course to a worthy cause, rather than drive the commercial capitalist system. We volunteered our graphic design skills for The African Pulse newsletter as we believe it is an excellent initiative and we look forward to producing a documentary for The African Pulse and working with the team in the future." Chris Aldridge.
"I'm really interested in helping a foundation that fights such a worthy cause. Education is the key to combating the spread of HIV and AIDS and I'm thrilled that I can contribute just a little and help TAP." Tessa Woods.
A group of young South Africans living and working in London have shown amazing support to the African Pulse. They have been present at numerous fundraising events and now endeavour to hold a sponsored run in Richmond Park, south-west London this year.
