What the students said

“It was very educational – what I like about it was that while we were learning we were also having fun at the same time. Normally we just do worksheet activities on Aids and it’s no real fun when you just have to answer questions. I think the really fun thing about the cd and comic is that it gave advice, you learnt a lot at the same time as having fun.”

“I’d like it to be a bit longer, a follow up and part two because I liked it a lot.”

“ If I can use the Pulse again it would be to spread the word. The Pulse is very educational and AIDS is a real problem in our country so we need to make more people aware of the problem.”

““I didn’t really know that animals couldn’t get AIDS….the white blood cells….and how to maintain your diet ….the explanations you got about your diet actually taught you something about how you should eat daily. What I really liked learning was about the immune system and why it’s so important.”

“It’s quite interesting and …. It’s a nice way of learning because you don’t learn by reading a book, you learn by watching and listening to a computer”

“I prefer the CD.. I don’t really like reading… it’s a different way of learning – listening and watching the computer. I like computers.”

“I like the pictures because they are so colourful… It’s almost like something that is really happening.”

“Yes it did make it very interesting….Feroza’s Story tells us more about AIDS”

“It’s actually fun – it helps young kids understand life and what’s the basis of life – you need to understand that respect comes from you, you need to have self respect and then you need to go further on.”

“I know someone that is HIV + and at first I didn’t know how to handle it and I realised while reading the comic book that there’s so much more things that I can tell them…. They don’t have to feel scared.”

“well I thought that AIDS was only in SA and USA but discovered that it was all over the world.”
