Mossel Bay

Mossel Bay is a small coastal town on the south coast of South Africa in the Western Cape province. It is the new base for The African Pulse offices. This town has one of the fastest growing HIV prevalence rates in the country.

An initiative conceived by a consortium of organisations in the area has developed plans to establish the first Youth Centre for Mossel Bay. The centre will address many pressing issues including HIV/AIDS education and awareness, counselling services and a resource/study centre.

The African Pulse has formed a leading support role in this venture. The centre, called the “EmPower Project”, will strive to educate and inspire the youth to develop better personal image, learn new skills and be involved in the upliftment and protection of their own community and environment. Support is currently being secured through local and national major companies and the local government.”
